Kowa's TSN-883 spotting scope is manufactured with the highest optical technology for the best-quality viewing experience, including the utilization of high-end Prominar (Apochromat) ED (extra-low dispersion), fluorite crystal lenses that eliminate color blur (chromatic aberration) for improved resolution and contrast. This scope's large, 88-millimeter diameter objective lens provides outstanding light gathering power, ensuring a bright field of view, while the sharp view and accurate color reproduction qualify the scope as a powerful instrument for observation at dawn or dusk.

The TSN-883 features lenses, prisms, and even dust protection glass on the main body all built with C3, highly-reflective, multi-layered coatings of dielectrics, ensuring clear visual range and sharp images, as well as a sliding sunshade that eliminates annoying glare in bright conditions, as well as helping keep distracting raindrops from getting to the objective lens during wetter weather.

The extremely durable housing of the Kowa TSN-883 is constructed of strong, yet lightweight magnesium. This housing is also waterproof to JIS class 7 protection standards, and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent the lens from fogging, which allows this spotting scope to be used in the rain and other harsh weather conditions.
